The New Samsung Propel a767 for AT&T offers multimedia smartphone functionality while still remaining compact thanks to its slider phone form.

It includes a 1.3-MP camera, and an MP3 player with 50MB of shared memory but it also has microSD card slot for expandable memory.
The Samsung Propel a767 also supports AT&T’s Mobile Music, Video, and Video Share services.
So far Propel comes in two colors: Blue and Green and they are both hot!!!
It operates on Li-Ion battery.
According to it’s manufacturer, the Samsung A767 has 3.3-5 hours of talk time and up to 200 hours of standby time.

South Korea: Almost More Phones than People
Mobile phone popularity in Asia remains unmatched around the globe. Case in point, today a report came out with news that nine out of 10 people in the country owned a mobile phone as of last year.
There were 45.6 million mobile phone subscribers in South Korea in December. South Korea’s total population is only 48.6 million! That’s more than 93%, a slight rise in rates from six months ago. While some people have more than one subscription, the figures indicate one of the highest cell phone saturation rates in the world.
The number is expected to rise further in the coming year, despite the economic downturn, according to Sung Suk-ham of the Korea Communications Commission. In addition to an average of 2.75 mobile phones per household, more than 15.4 million South Koreans - just under a third of the population - have high-speed internet, the commission said.
South Korea is home to Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, the world’s number 2 and number 4 manufacturers of mobile phones.

British Airways to Offer Mid-Atlantic Texting
Passengers crossing the pond on British Airways can use the airline’s new service from City Airport to New York to send text messages and access the internet from the middle of the Atlantic.
Although the service won’tlaunch later in the year, the new service,is business class only and will stop off in Ireland on the way to the US. According to the announcement, “stressed executives will be able to connect to a GSM picocell on the aircraft for data access and text messaging.”
The connectivity is provided by OnAir, and in turn by satellite company Inmarsat courtesy of a small dish mounted on the top of the aircraft and a connection to the Inmarsat-4 satellite. That should provide around half a MB of connectivity, along with the latency inevitably associated with geostationary satellite communications.
British Airlines isn’t saying how much flights are going to cost, or if the data connectivity will be bundled, but with no economy seats to bulk out the flight it’s not going to be inexpensive.

MMA Releases Mobile Banking Overview
The Mobile Marketing Association has published its Mobile Banking Overview; an educational resource designed to provide analysis of the unique marketing opportunities and attributes that the mobile channel represents for the financial sector.
As you can imagine, it’s jam packed with relevant considerations and helpful advice.
“As mobile commerce becomes more secure, we will see a paradigm shift in the way people do their banking,” said Sean Moshir, Mobile Banking Sub-Committee Co-Chair at the MMA. “We believe that mobile banking will parallel the Internet era in many aspects, leading consumers and financial institutions alike to become more comfortable with mobile transactions. The Mobile Banking Sub-Committee is pleased to present the Mobile Banking Overview as a key milestone in the evolution of mobile commerce.”
This overview comes on the heels of the MMA also publishing an updated version of its Mobile Advertising Overview, which was initially made available in April 2008.
For now, the MMA Mobile Banking Overview can be downloaded from www.mmaglobal.com/mbankingoverview.pdf. And the updated Mobile Advertising Overview white paper can be downloaded from www.mmaglobal.com/mobileadvertisingoverview.pdf.
